Framework (EYFS). The EYFS exists to support all professionals working in Early Years and provide a consistent level of childcare and education across all early year’s settings. It is a play-based curriculum that ensures no child is left behind.
What separates us from other settings is our commitment to you as a family. We are not just here to educate your child we are here to support you as a family. Our door is always open to you, whether for a coffee and a chat or advice. We may not be able to provide the support you need but will point you in the right direction.
We place a great emphasis on the partnerships we build with your family and everything we do for your child we do together.
We endeavour to provide an environment where your child will have the opportunity to become well-rounded little citizens ready to conquer the school environment. Our children will enter school with the appropriate foundations and ready to learn about the world. They will have strategies in place to respect others, manage their behaviour and be confident enough to take new challenges in their stride.
Your child’s education is an important journey and we will share this very exciting trip. No one knows your child quite like you do, so we need you to share your knowledge with us as often as you can.
We appreciate that you lead busy lives which is why we provide a variety of ways to share your child’s learning and development. We can chat at the end of the day, via email or Tapestry, arrange a time for a meeting, whatever suits your needs as a family. Your key person will talk to you at the end of each term about your child’s progress and together we will develop your child’s Next Steps.
On or around your child’s birthday we shall meet to discuss their annual report in detail. At this meeting you will meet your child’s new key person and you can tell them all about your child and they can discuss with you how to help your child to settle in their new room.
This fits in well with the two-year check we have to do in line with the requirements of the EYFS.
The planning boards around the nursery will offer you the chance to extend your child’s learning at home along with the information we share on Tapestry. We may also make requests for items for our role-play, all of which are gratefully received. We also cherish the items that are sent in to help us reflect your child’s culture at home. If it is special to you and your child, it is special to us.
